Android Pie for Samsung S8 and S8+


Samsung have rolled out the first One UI beta update to the S8/S8+ this update also brings the latest Android 9 (Pie).

The update is currently rolling out with build version G950FXXU4ZSA5 and G955FXXU4ZSA5, for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ respectively. While the size of the update is 1606.15 MB.

WHAT DOES ONE UI MEAN?

One UI is an Android-based custom mobile operating system designed by Samsung Electronics for its Galaxy devices. It was introduced in late 2018 on a beta build based on Android Pie for the Galaxy S9 Series, succeeding Samsung Experience. The first public stable build was released as a software update on December 24, 2018 in select regions (Germany, Switzerland, Italy, UAE, Netherlands, Turkey and a few devices in Lebanon), and a wider roll out is scheduled for January 2019 "Says Wikipedia"

HOW TO GET THE ONE UI BETA

If you own a Galaxy S8, S8+, you need to install the Samsung Members app from either the Galaxy Apps store or the Google Play Store, SamMobile reports the beta firmware version numbers are G950FXXU4ZSA5 for the Galaxy S8 and G955FXXU4ZSA5 for the Galaxy S8 Plus. U.S. residents will be able to sign up for the same beta via the Samsung+ app.

  • Those in the USA must sign up through the Samsung+ app.

  • Participation in the beta program requires a Samsung account and if you don’t have one create one by visiting here – https://account.samsung.com

  • The One UI Beta Program may only be available to certain devices, OS, and countries.
  • Beta program period and compatible devices vary by country.


 Noted that? Then move to;
1. Become a beta tester.

 Download the Samsung Members application from Galaxy Apps or the Google Play Store. After logging in, go to Notices and select “One UI Beta Program Registration” to submit an application.

 2. Update Software.
Once signed up, go to Settings and then Update Software to select the Download Updates Manually option. This will allow the software to update and load the beta version.
